Compared to conventional three-channel LED projection, the Xiaomi Projector uses one additional blue light path, which leads to an increase in brightness of over 20%. The projector uses Osram LEDs with NTSC colour range up to 85%. The wider range provides more faithful colours.

The MI Smart Compact projector has a specially designed sound chamber and screen, which together create an extremely good acoustic effect in space. The large sound chamber combined with the ultra-long driver creates a rich sound coming from very sensitive speakers. The speakers generate low frequency sound up to 90 Hz, which gives more bass than conventional projectors with a low frequency range of 150-200 Hz.
