Zyxel GS1200-8 - Gigabit, 8-port manageable switch

The GS1200-8 switch will provide high transfer speeds - via Gigabit Ethernet ports. It is equipped with an online configuration and software update assistant, which will speed up the network start-up time.

Technical solutions

IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) Snooping - based on queries and reports of IGMP the switch transfers traffic not to all, but only to selected multicast ports. This improves the performance of network traffic, especially for applications that require more IP multicast bandwidth, such as streaming.

VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network)Segregation - thanks to VLAN it is possible to separate network traffic and thus isolate resources - so that only specific users have access to them.

A improved QoS (Quality of Service) - allows prioritization of different applications, users and streams of a given type. In this way, the bandwidth for a given source is guaranteed.

Agregation of links - Zyxel GS1200-8 can combine two physical ports into one data path - with high throughput, which will provide fast data transfer and greater reliability.

The IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) function automatically adjusts power consumption - depending on the network traffic.

No fans make its operation quiet, so air noise does not disturb the working environment.

Up to 2000 Mbps of unblocking bandwidth per port, port duplication, support for Jumbo frames, control of broadcast storm, loop detection and revent looping will ensure fast and reliable network operation.

What is a manageable switch?

The Zyxel GS1200-8 GS1200-8 manageable, gigabit Zyxel GS1200-8 switch allows you to change the configuration via telnet, website or similar solutions and adapt it to the correct operation of the network.

What is Gigabit Ethernet?

Gigabit Ethernet is a data rate standard that is supported by the Zyxel GS1200-8 switch and can be 1000 Mb/s (1 Gb/s).

What is a VLAN?

VLAN, or Virtual Local Area Network, is the term for a logical network that can be created in the Zyxel GS1200-8 manageable switch. It allows you to create more than one physical network. At the same time, it allows to isolate ports in such a way that devices physically connected from one group of ports will not have access to other groups.

What's QoS?

QoS, or Quality of Service, is a switch configuration that determines the priority protocols on which services will operate that require higher than standard bandwidth and no delays, such as streaming, or VoIP.
