Converters (or converters) - are devices that do not receive energy directly from the power grid, but from other sources. They are e.g. 12V batteries or 12V car chargers. Converters are usually called systems that are not stand-alone devices and which produce a voltage much higher than their supply voltage. The task of the current converter is to change the value of current and voltage of electricity so that they meet the requirements of the powered receiver. The high-quality current converter allows you to modify electricity - without significant power loss.
Voltage types in the converter
The most popular type of voltage used in the converter is 12V (12V 230V). The reason is simple - this voltage is achievable in a standard car battery. Thanks to this, we can supply energy to devices that require continuous power supply. There are also 24V (24V 230V) and 48V on the market. The higher the voltage, the greater the reduction of losses.
Car converter
If we want to use devices such as a microwave, kettle or TV in our means of transport (e.g. in motorhomes), a car inverter is a great choice. With the appropriate power of the inverter, we can provide power to these devices and use them at will when traveling or on vacation. Using car chargers with a voltage of 12V, we can create a comfortable and cozy substitute of our apartment in the car.
Voltage converter - types
Converter with full, pure sine - it is intended primarily for devices using an induction motor and requiring constant power supply, such as air conditioners or refrigerators.
Converter with modified sine - it is a cheaper converter, dedicated to devices that do not require laptops. However, please note that there may be problems with this inverter for TVs.
When buying voltage converters, we should pay special attention to the output power and input voltage, especially when we plan to connect more devices and want to provide them with constant voltage. In addition, the car converter should have a universal connector for network plugs and a USB connector for charging phones and tablets, which we often use when using car chargers with a voltage of 12V.
