PoE (Power over Ethernet) is a standard for powering devices using a network cable commonly called "twisted pair". In this standard, both data and current used to power devices on the network are transmitted through the network cable wires. The transmission of power to the devices has no effect on the data transfer rate. Thanks to switches equipped with PoE power supply function, we can significantly reduce network installation costs. Devices such as Access Points, VoIP phones, IP cameras, can be powered via Ethernet cable, without connecting the devices to the network 230V.
.Using PoE switches to power the devices reduces the time and costs associated with the installation of electrical wiring. Moreover, such installation is very flexible. We do not have to install the devices near an electrical outlet, but where we really need them. If necessary, it is very easy to add new devices to the network, or change the position of existing ones. By powering the devices via PoE, we also have the assurance that they are well protected against overvoltages, overloads or voltage drops. Extralink PoE switches are equipped with protections to ensure proper operation of devices and protect them from damage. With the help of the managed PoE switches, we can also reset PoE-powered devices from one place, for example, if a given device does not work properly. Extralink's offer also includes unmanageable switches, but they have intelligent switches that are extremely helpful in the basic activities of any network administrator. Below you will find a description of all the functions of the individual buttons that Extralink.
switches are equipped with. When choosing the right switch to power the devices in our network, it is worth knowing how much power they need for proper operation. The maximum power for each port of the PoE switch is specified in the individual PoE standards, which are described below. All standards are characterized by a voltage of 48V. It remains to choose a switch with sufficient number and speed of ports and sufficient power.
Sorry to see the clear comparison of Extralink switches. The table will give you an easy overview of the wide buoyancy and will help you to choose the right equipment for your needs.
