Switch DGS-3630 of the Layer 4 Stackable Managed series is designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMB). It provides high performance, flexibility, fault tolerance and advanced software features for maximum reliability. With Gigabit Ethernet SFP, 10 GbE SFP+, security features and advanced (QoS) service quality, the DGS-3630 series switch can act as a core, distribution or access switch. High port density, switch layout and easy management make DGS-3630 suitable for many applications.
Standard and extended software images
DGS-3630 includes Standard Image (SI) software and for additional functionality the device can be upgraded to Enhanced Image (EI). The standard image provides basic SMB and SME functions such as L2 switching, basic routing, l2 multicast, Advanced QoS, administration and maintenance (OAM) and robust security features. Enhanced Image includes all the features of the standard image and also supports full L3 routing for integration into the Enterprise system including OSPF, BGP, VRF-Lite and L3 multicast. This solution allows network administrators to implement a cheaper L2 / L2+ solution and upgrade it to L3 in the future.
High availability and flexibility
Switch DGS-3630 supports stacking technology that combines multiple switches into one single physical or virtual stack. This increases redundancy over multiple physical units, simplifies management and provides one single IP address to manage all stack members. With Direct Attach Copper (DAC) or fiber optic cables, up to 9 switches can be stacked to provide up to 432 Gigabit Ethernet ports to increase switch performance with demand. The Switch Resource Management (SRM) feature allows you to resize the hardware table so that switch functions can be optimized based on your switch application. There are 3 modes: IP Mode, LAN Mode and L2 VPN Mode, which modify the size of the Layer 2 and 3 tables for optimal performance.
Safety, performance and availability
The DGS-3630 series switches provide a full set of security features, including multi-layered access control lists (ACL) and 802.1X user authentication via TACACS + and RADIUS. DGS-3630 switches also offer extensive VLAN support, including GVRP and 802.1Q VLAN for increased security and performance.
