About product

Cisco SG550X-24 - 24-port Gigabit switch with 10Gbps Uplink ports with stackable Managed Switch - Cisco 550X series

The Cisco SG550X-24 switch is equipped with 24 ports with a throughput of 1000Mbps. The switch also has 2 Combo 10G RJ45/SFP+ ports and two SFP+ ports. Cisco devices have several management options, including a graphical user interface available through a web browser and text CLI console.

CISCO SG550X-24

Top-level performance

The switch has a throughput of 95.23 million packets per second (64-byte packets) and a switching capacity of 128 Gb/s. The Cisco switch comes with a limited manufacturer's lifetime warranty.

Physical stacking of switches

The Cisco 550X series switches are designed to protect your technology investment as your business grows. Unlike switches that are stackable but have components that are administered and configured separately, the Cisco 550X Series provides true stacking capabilities, allowing you to configure, manage and troubleshoot multiple physical switches as you do in a single device, and make network expansion easier.

Cisco 550x series

Why Cisco?

High performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports The Cisco 550X series switches have 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing affordable and flexible configurations to meet the high networking requirements of small and medium-sized enterprises. With the 10G copper ports in the SX550X switches, 10G connections to servers and network attached storage devices can be easily and cost-effectively achieved with a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable.
Easy implementation and use The Cisco 550X series switches are designed for easy operation and management by small and medium businesses, commercial customers or partners who operate them.

They are characterised by the following features:

- Smart Network Application (SNA) is an innovative network level monitoring and management tool built into the series Cisco 250 to 550X switches. It provides the ability to display network topology, display connection status, monitor events, deploy configurations and update software in multiple switches on the network.

- FindIT Network Manager and Probe are designed to manage switches, routers and wireless access points from the Cisco 100 to 500 series. They allow for proactive network management instead of just reacting to events. The Cisco 550X series switches support the built-in FindIT Network Probe, which eliminates the need to configure separate hardware or a virtual machine on site. For more information, visit the manufacturer's website: Cisco - FindIT Network Manager and Probe

- The FindIT Network Discovery tool works with a simple toolbar in your web browser that allows you to discover Cisco devices on the network and display basic device information, inventory and new firmware updates to help you configure and speed up the deployment of Cisco Small Business products.

- Simple and advanced graphical user interfaces reduce the time needed for implementation, troubleshooting and network management, and allow convenient operation of advanced features.

- Configuration wizards simplify the most common configuration tasks and are a great tool for easy network configuration and management.

- The switches also support text interface Command-Line Interface (CLI).

- Thanks to Auto Smart port intelligence, the switch can detect a network device connected to any port and automatically configure optimal security, quality of service (QoS) and availability on that port.

- The Cisco DiscoveryProtocol detects Cisco devices and allows them to share key configuration information to simplify network configuration and integration.

- Support for SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) allows you to configure and manage switches and other Cisco devices remotely, which improves IT department operations and facilitates mass configurations.

- The USB port in the switch allows for easy transfer of images and configurations for faster implementation or updates.

- Networkwide Automatic Voice Deployment - Using a combination of Cisco Discovery Protocol, LLDP-MED, Auto Smartports and Voice Services Discovery Protocol (or VSDP, Cisco's unique protocol), customers can dynamically deploy an end-to-end voice network.

Unidirectional Link Detection (UDLD) The UDLD monitors the physical connection to detect one-way connections caused by incorrect wiring or cable/port errors to prevent redirection loops and blocked traffic in networks.
DHCP Relay in Layer 2 Forwarding DHCP traffic to a DHCP server in different VLANs; it works with DHCP option 82.
Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP versions 1, 2, 3) snooping IGMP limits bandwidth-intensive multicast traffic to requesters only; it supports up to 1K multicast groups (source-specific multicasting is also supported).
IGMP querier Querier IGMP is used to operate the Layer 2 snooping switches multicast domain in the absence of a multicast router.

Authorisation via Internet Network-based authentication provides control of network access via a web browser to any device or operating system.
STP Bridge Protocol Data Unit (BPDU) Guard A safety mechanism to protect the network against incorrect configurations. The port with BPDU Guard enabled is disabled if a BPDU message is received on this port. This prevents accidental topology loops.
STP Root Guard This prevents edge devices that are not under the control of the network administrator from becoming Spanning Tree Protocol root nodes.
DHCP snooping Filters DHCP messages with unregistered IP addresses and/or from unexpected or untrusted interfaces.
This prevents malicious devices from acting as DHCP servers.
IP Source Guard (IPSG) When the IP Source Guard feature is enabled on a port, the switch filters the IP packets received from the port if the source IP addresses of the packets have not been statically configured or dynamically learned from DHCP snooping.
This prevents IP address spoofing.
Dynamic ARP Control (DAI) The switch rejects ARP packets from the port if there are no static or dynamic IP/MAC bindings or if there is a discrepancy between the source or destination addresses in the ARP packet. This prevents man-in-the-middle attacks.
IP/MAC/Port Binding (IPMB) Previous features (DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection) work together to prevent DOS attacks on the network, thereby increasing network availability.
Secure Core Technology (SCT) It makes sure that the switch will receive and manage processes and protocol traffic regardless of the amount of traffic received.
Secure Sensitive Data (SSD) A mechanism for secure management of sensitive data (such as passwords, keys, etc.) on the switch, filling in this data on other devices and protecting against auto setup. Access to view confidential data in plain or encrypted text is provided according to user-configured access level and user access method.
Private VLAN Private VLAN provides security and isolation between switching ports, helping to ensure that users cannot spy on other users' traffic; it supports multiple uplink links.
Port security Possibility to block source MAC addresses to ports and limit the number of known MAC addresses.
RADIUS/TACACS+ Supports RADIUS and TACACS authentication. The switch works as a client.
RADIUS accounting RADIUS reporting functions allow sending data at the beginning and the end of the service, indicating the amount of resources (such as time, packets, bytes, etc.) used during the session.
