Extralink AI-9 is an innovative solution on the market of fiber optic welders. It combines simplicity of use, which will be appreciated by novice users, and advanced positioning and welding techniques, which will be appreciated by experienced welders. The welder operates on different types of fibers, both Singlemode and Multimode. AI series welders stand out in the market with an innovative way of device configuration - all settings are made via an application installed on the smartphone.
Extralink AI-9 uses a stick positioning technique for the core (mantle positioning possible) to provide the best damping parameters for the welds. Fibers are positioned by 6 high-end (Siemens) motors, which is absolutely unparalleled in equipment from this price shelf. The welder can be used both for 100 km of fiber optic buses, FTTH installations, as well as short point-to-point connections, or LAN installations or video surveillance based on fiber optic cabling. The AI-9 model is based on a 4-core processor ensuring fast response time (the welder is ready to work after 3 seconds) and short welding and shielding times. This welding machine is one of the fastest devices of this type currently available on the market and the fastest in this price class.
5.1-inch display with 800x480 px resolution and adjustable brightness ensures comfortable operation even in difficult lighting conditions. The optical system offers 300-fold image magnification, which directly affects the quality of the welding process and visual analysis of the welds performed (viewing in two planes). The minimum welding time is 6 seconds and welding time of 40 mm covers is only 15 seconds. Built-in LED lamp allows to perform welds (and fiber work) even in total darkness.
Universal fibre holders provide comfort and speed of work - 250 μm, 900 μm fibres can be laid in a tight and loose tube and patchcord and/or DROP type cables. The welder offers various welding programs and an Auto mode, which works in most situations.
The casing of the welding machine is made of metal, covered with protective rubber on the underside, the cover of the welding chamber and the furnace are made of high quality plastic. The offered set includes a practical box containing, apart from the welder, all necessary tools, power supply and accessories (retractable in a two-level drawer mounted on durable metal guides). What is important is that it is not necessary to take the welder out of the box for welding - so we get a solid and stable support. The box itself is made of durable plastic and has a inseparable element which can be used as a stool or small table.

The method of operation of the AI-8C welding machine consists in connecting two optical fibres under the influence of high melting temperature. The device centres the ends of the optical fibre and the electric arc melts them. Then they are pressed in order to form a weld. Finally, the weld is subjected to a strength test with a force of 2N.
AI-8C is an economical option, offering centring to the core or to the shell. Compared to other welding machines, it ensures very fast welding and welding of optical fibres. It has a number of facilities that make it comfortable to work with the welder and can be carried out in different conditions.
