Single-mode patchcord with a length of 1meter, cable diameter of the order of 3mm, terminated with SC/APC-SC/APC connectors is used to connect optical network equipment like switches and converters. It contains bidirectional transmission(Duplex). G.657.A1 fiber contains enhanced mechanical resistance. They are also widely used in FTTH networks for connecting OLT and ONU/ONT devices.

G.652 - the standard defines 4 fiber versions: A, B, C, D. Dedicated to 10Gbps and 40Gbps systems. Wavelengths range from 1310nm to 1625nm, bending radius 30mm.
G.655 - fiber dedicated to systems using DWDM in the 3rd transmission window. Wavelength is 1550-1625nm, bending radius 30mm.
G.656 - fiber dedicated to work in broadband systems using both DWDM and CWDM. It is designed to operate at wavelengths from 1460 to 1625 nm.
G.657 - often referred to as enhanced G.652.D. G.657 fiber comes in several versions. The main advantage of the fiber is its increased mechanical resistance: the minimum bending radius of this fiber is 7.5-15mm (depending on the version).
Single-mode - transmitting only one mod of light. They allow signal transmission over very long distances without the risk of signal attenuation or distortion.
Multimode - carrying multiple light mods simultaneously. They allow to transmit a signal over a much shorter distance, and when used over long distances can cause the appearance of signal interference.
Simplex - a connection in which transmission takes place unilaterally from transmitter to receiver. Used in simplex radio networks to exchange information on a single channel without the need for retransmission stations.
Duplex, also bidirectional transmission - a connection in which it is possible to transmit and receive information in both directions. The transmitter and receiver can swap functions or perform these functions simultaneously.
