Huawei MA5608T

The MA5608T is the world's first OLT terminal to combine the functionality of an aggregation switch and edge router. Thanks to the use of GPON, 10GPON, Ethernet P2P and triple technology, the terminal provides access to high throughput networks. It is the smallest OLT from Huawei capable of serving up to 4096 users at a time. The device supports up to 32 GPON ports, up to 16 XG-GPON ports, up to 512,000 MAC boards, 8192 ARP board, switching speed up to 720 GB/s. The device is suitable for rack 19 mounting.

Aggregation management for remote sites

OLT supports aggregation management and plug-and-play for remote sites. This eliminates the need to run software on site and integrate the OSS system, which simplifies device management. The management of remote devices focuses on OLT through GE aggregation. In this way, service configuration, software updates and maintenance of remote sites can be carried out via OLT, which significantly reduces the complexity of FTTx network management.

  • Highly efficient implementation: There is no need to plan independent management IP addresses for remote sites, which saves management IP address resources. Also, no initial configuration of the remote sites is required. When enabled, the remote sites automatically register to the main rack using the proprietary protocol.
  • Speed integration: remote sites are considered as virtual arrays of services and managed by OLT. They share the same MIB interface with OLT. OSS integration is greatly simplified by adding new sites.
  • Easy OAM: remote sites and main devices have a unified OAM user interface, including CLI and GUI. This relieves OAM engineers from learning OAM knowledge about new devices and reduces associated costs.
