Huawei's high-performance Fixed Switches series S6720-EI offer a wide range of services, comprehensive security control rules and various QoS functions. Huawei S6720-EISwitches can be used to access servers in data centers or as core switches in campus networks. To ensure sufficient bandwidth for many servers, especially in data centers, 10G network cards should be used. The S6720-EI fixed switch is ideal for such centers, providing high performance 10GE ports. Huawei S6720-EI has high density of all 10 GE ports and high switching capacity. Each S6720-EI switch provides up to 6 line speed QSFP + ports and 48 10GE ports. The S6720-EI ports support 1 GE and 10 GE access and can identify types of optical modules, maximizing return on investment and allowing users to deploy services flexibly. With its large buffer capacity and advanced buffer planning mechanism, S6720-EI provides non-blocking transmission when data center traffic is high.
The Huawei S6720-EI switch provides many security measures to defend against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, against attacks on networks or individual users. DoS attacks include SYN Flood, Land, Smurf and ICMP Flood attacks. Attacks on networks refer to BPDU STP/ root attacks. Attacks on users include false DHCP server attacks, man-in-the-middle, IP/MAC falsification, flooded DHCP request attacks and DoS attacks that change the CHADDR field in DHCP packets. Huawei S6720-EI supports Huawei DHCP, which generates user-defined entries based on access interfaces, MAC addresses, IP addresses, IP address leases and VLAN identifiers. DHCP tracking rejects packets that do not match any binding entries, e.g. ARP or IP impersonation packets. This prevents hackers from using ARP packets to initiate attacks on campus networks. To protect the system from false attacks by a DHCP server, the interface connected to it can be configured as trusted. The S6720-EI supports strict ARP learning to prevent forgery. It also provides IP source control to prevent DoS attacks resulting from falsified MAC, IP and MAC/IP addresses. Whereas URPF provided by Switch S6720-EI authenticates packets by checking their transmission path in reverse order, helping to protect the network from attacks impersonating the source address.
