TP-Link introduces the TL-SG108-M2 desktop multi-gigabit switch, part of its Omada series of network devices. It features 8 2.5Gbps ports that provide high performance for connected devices such as access points, servers, NAS devices and workstations.
Speed auto-negotiation technology is supported when connecting ports. It automatically selects the appropriate connection type by choosing from the following options: 100 Mbit/s; 1 Gbit/s; 2.5 Gbit/s. The total switching capacity of the device is 40 Gbit/s, which is suitable for SMB network deployment as well as home use.
Connections are made with minimal latency and avoid the use of expensive, standardized Category 6 cabling for Gigabit Ethernet and other physical-layer networking equipment, where there are more stringent technical requirements to avoid crosstalk and system noise than with Cat 5/5e and Cat 3 standards.
The TL-SG108-M2 switch enables ultra-fast data transfer between workstations. The multi-gigabit ports provide an efficient way to fully connect network access points to WiFi 6. The high-speed wired connection provides users with the ability to quickly back up workstations and quickly save files to a server or NAS. The TL-SG108-M2 switch is ergonomically designed. The fanless design ensures quiet operation. The rugged metal chassis distributes heat evenly and allows it to be placed anywhere - on a desk or on a wall. With auto-MDI/MDIX technology, users can eliminate the need for a crossover cable.
