TL-SG3424 is a managed layer 2 switch equipped with 24 10/100/1000Mbps ports and 4 SFP combo slots for more universal use in the network. It provides high performance, advanced QoS function support, threat protection strategies and network management functions in the second layer. The JetStream Layer 2 switch is a cost-effective solution for small and medium businesses.
JetStream Series 3 features such as IP-MAC-Port-VID binding, port protection, Storm Control, DHCP Snooping and IP Source Guard protect against ARP attacks, broadcast storm etc. Additionally, it is possible to define typical DoS attacks to be detected by the TL-SG3424. This makes protection against them more effective than ever before. The use of access control lists (ACL, L2 to L4) prevents access to certain network resources; denial of packets can be set for specific source or destination MAC addresses, IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports and even VLAN identifiers. In addition, the switch uses 802.1X encryption in combination with RADIUS server functions to authenticate users wishing to access the network. The device allows users who do not use 802.1X to connect to specific network resources as VLAN guests.
TL-SG3424 supports Layer 2 switch functions, i.e. VLAN tagging (802.1Q), Port Mirroring, support for STP/RSTP/MSTP, and LACP protocols, as well as data flow functions (802.3x). In addition, the switch supports advanced network security features such as feedback loop detection, cable diagnostics or IGMP Snooping. IGMP snooping provides the ability to switch multicast frames only for selected users, while IGMP throttling & filtering limits access to resources to individual users at port level.
The TL-SG3424 switch is an easy to use and manage device. The device can be managed in various ways, e.g. through an intuitive graphical user interface in a web browser (GUI) or a command line interface (CLI). Packet transfer can be protected by SSL or SSH encryption. Support for SNMP (1/2/3) and RMON allows the switch to transmit relevant status information and discover unforeseen events. With integrated NDP/NTDP, the switch can be managed by another IP clustering device.
