EdgeSwitch® 8 is a fully manageable, powerful PoE+ Gigabit switch. It provides high performance and intelligent data transfer with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports that support PoE+ and two SFP ports for optical connectivity. It can be placed on your desk or mounted on the wall. The DC input option is included for flexibility.
Sharing a total of 150W, the eight Gigabit Ethernet ports offer automatic IEEE 802.3af/@ PoE/PoE+ or 24V passive PoE detection - a solution that was used to simplify the infrastructure.
EdgeSwitch provides fiber optic connection options for growing networks. The two SFP ports provide links up to 1 Gbps.
EdgeSwitch provides robust data transfer performance with total, unblocked bandwidth up to 10 Gbps.
EdgeSwitch offers the ability to transfer data to process traffic on all ports simultaneously at linear speed, without losing packets.
The versatile user interface is easy to learn and allows administrators to configure and monitor functions in the graphical interface. For advanced users there is a command line interface (CLI), which is available via telnet and SSH.

EdgeSwitch is set to DHCP by default, so it will try to get an IP address automatically. If this fails, it will use the default backup IP address, 192.168.1.2
One of the following methods should be used:
- Configure the DHCP server to give a specific IP address to the EdgeSwitch based on the MAC address.
- Allow the EdgeSwitch to obtain an IP address and then check the DHCP server or the UBNT Discovery Tool to see which IP address has been assigned.
1. Start a web browser. Enter the appropriate IP address in the address field. Press Enter
2. The login screen will appear. Enter Ubnt in the User name and password field. Click Sign In 
3. The EdgeSwitch configuration interface will appear. If necessary, you can adjust additional settings.
