Ubiquiti Inc. - important information!
The company Ubiquiti Inc. probably needs no introduction. For years, a well-known manufacturer of professional networking equipment, especially wireless solutions. Probably every user of Ubiquiti devices has recently received such information (newsletter), which is related to our security on the servers of the American leader in networking and wireless solutions:
Three owls about the newsletter, then.
As Ubiquiti writes, information has been obtained about unauthorized access to certain IT systems, which in turn are hosted by a "third-party cloud service provider." And importantly, so far there is no information about unauthorized activity in relation to any user account!
Similarly, there is no information about the leak of information from databases where detailed user data is stored. But of course, one cannot be sure that this data has not been leaked! You also need to be aware that if we are talking about leaked data this includes name, email address, encrypted one-way password to our account (passwords are encrypted!) and address and phone number, if of course we have provided this data.

How to take care of your security

. Ubiquiti clearly writes that in order to improve security of our account first of all, we should change our access password to all accounts created on ui.com (e.g. unifi.ui.com)! And it's best to do this wherever you use a similar login on other portals. It's also worth running two-step authentication on Ubiquiti Inc. accounts.
As a recap. There are certainly no grounds for concern or panic! After all, every now and then we hear about attacks on various Internet portals, every now and then we hear about leaks from various databases. Besides, many times it is possible to buy entire databases, e.g. mailing ones. Therefore, it only remains for us to thank Ubiquiti Inc. for their quick reaction and sending such important information to their Clients! So there is no need to waste time unnecessarily discussing the issue, but we should immediately change the access passwords on all ui.com portals and everywhere else where we use similar logins. Additionally, it is worth enabling Two-Factor Authentication for our accounts. Thanks Ubiquiti for your quick response!
