Precise control without an additional module

iFlight Commando 8 Pro GemX TX is a Radio ELRS V2 transmitter designed for people using drones and the ExpressLRS system. Integrated iFlight ExpressLRS hardware lets you use ELRS without fitting an additional external module, and the design also includes an optional bay for another TX module. Digital gimbals with Hall sensors make precise control easier, while the built-in 4000mAh battery provides up to 20 hours of operation.

Integrated ExpressLRS system

The transmitter has fully integrated iFlight ExpressLRS hardware, so you do not need an additional external module to use ELRS. The internal TX module was developed in cooperation with the ExpressLRS team, and the relevant firmware targets have been made available. The Backpack function is one of the improvements over V1. If you want to use another TX module, you can use the optional external module bay.

Frequency stability and cooling

The Commando 8 Pro GemX TX uses a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator, which has replaced the standard active crystal oscillator. The TCXO oscillator improves frequency stability and may reduce frequency error, helping to reduce packet loss. The improved cooling system includes an additional fan and an aluminium plate, so the transmitter has solutions supporting the operation of the integrated ELRS module.

Two bands for different applications

The transmitter supports the 2.4GHz and 868/900MHz bands, so you can choose a configuration to suit the system you use and local regulations. The 2.4GHz system uses the SX1281 and offers a maximum output power of 500mW, while the 868/900MHz system uses the SX1276 and reaches a maximum of 1000mW. Antenna Diversity mode for the 2.4GHz ELRS module has been introduced as an improvement over V1.

Controls close at hand

The radio is equipped with a layout of buttons and switches that makes it easier to use OpenTX or EdgeTX during setup and flight. Two 5-way menu buttons allow full control of the software, and two 2-position switches can be used, among other things, for arming. These are complemented by two 3-position switches and mini digital Hall gimbals with high precision and NMB bearings.

Power supply and transmitter configuration

The built-in 4000mAh 1S2P 18650 battery consists of two 2000mAh 18650 batteries factory-fitted and provides up to 20 hours of operation. Type-C 20W Quick Charge charging makes topping up power easier, and the factory EdgeTX software with pre-installed Lua scripts supports radio configuration. The set includes the Radio Commando8 ELRS V2 transmitter and two Li-Ion 18650 batteries.
