The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect AI Dome is a 4K PoE dome camera designed for indoor and outdoor surveillance. Its IK10 vandal-resistant construction and IP66 protection help it perform in locations where equipment is exposed to the elements and mechanical damage. This means you can use a single device to monitor entrances, vehicle access areas or other sensitive locations.

Image quality and recording detail

The camera uses a 1/1.8" 8 MP sensor and records video at a resolution of 2560 x 1920 px at 30 fps. Its fixed-focal-length lens offers a wide field of view, making it easier to monitor larger spaces without installing additional cameras. Image settings are also available, including brightness, contrast, white balance, HDR and 2D and 3D noise reduction, so you can adjust the recording to the lighting conditions on site.

AI features and night vision

The model supports face recognition, number plate recognition and the detection of people, vehicles and animals. This set of features helps focus attention on events relevant to site security. At night, monitoring is supported by built-in IR LEDs and an IR Cut filter, while the infrared range extends up to 40 m, enabling surveillance after dark as well.

Installation and power

The camera uses a 10/100/1000 Mb/s RJ45 interface and supports 802.3af PoE with an input voltage range of 42.5–57 V DC. This simplifies installation, as power and data are carried over a single cable. The device also has a built-in microphone, a factory reset button and a microSD slot, providing greater flexibility when configuring the surveillance system.

Dimensions and construction

The camera body is made of aluminium alloy and polycarbonate, while the mount is made of polycarbonate. The housing measures 142 × 142 × 156 mm, and the device weighs 0.8755 kg. This design makes it easy to plan wall or ceiling installation while retaining a compact form that suits spaces where attractive, discreet surveillance is important.

Operation in challenging environments

The device operates at temperatures from -30°C to 50°C and humidity levels of 0%–90% without condensation, making it suitable for a range of environmental conditions. The camera is NDAA-compliant, has declared IP66 and IK10 ratings, and supports wall or ceiling mounting. This makes it easy to adapt to sites where reliable surveillance and protection from external factors are important.
