The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect AI Dome is a 4K PoE dome camera designed for indoor and outdoor surveillance. Its IK10 vandal-resistant construction and IP66 protection help it perform in locations where equipment is exposed to weather and mechanical damage. This means you can use a single device to monitor entrances, vehicle access areas or other critical locations.

Image quality and recording detail

The camera uses a 1/1.8" 8 MP sensor and records video at a resolution of 2560 x 1920 px at 30 fps. Its fixed-focus lens offers a wide field of view, making it easier to monitor larger areas without needing to add more cameras. Image settings are also available, including brightness, contrast, white balance, HDR, and 2D and 3D noise reduction, so you can adjust the recording to the lighting conditions on site.

AI features and night vision

The model supports facial recognition, number plate recognition and the detection of people, vehicles and animals. This set of features helps focus attention on events that matter to site security. At night, monitoring is supported by built-in IR LEDs and an IR Cut filter, with an infrared range of up to 40 m, allowing surveillance to continue after dark.

Installation and power

The camera uses an RJ45 10/100/1000 Mb/s interface and supports PoE 802.3af with a voltage range of 42.5–57 V DC. This simplifies installation, as power and data are carried over a single cable. The device also has a built-in microphone, a factory reset button and a microSD slot, providing greater flexibility when configuring the surveillance system.

Dimensions and construction

The camera body is made of aluminium alloy and polycarbonate, while the bracket is made of polycarbonate. The housing measures 142 × 142 × 156 mm, and the device weighs 0.8755 kg. This design makes wall or ceiling installation easier to plan, while retaining a compact form that is well suited to spaces where surveillance needs to be discreet and unobtrusive.

Operation in demanding environments

The device operates at temperatures from -30°C to 50°C and at a humidity of 0%–90% non-condensing, making it suitable for a range of environmental conditions. The camera is NDAA-compliant, has an IP66 rating and IK10 resistance, and supports wall or ceiling mounting. This allows you to adapt it to sites where reliable surveillance and protection from external factors are important.
