Xiaomi Smart Camera C701 Pro uses two lenses, enabling simultaneous monitoring of a wide area and zooming in on more distant details. The 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 2.8 mm focal length, f/1.6 aperture and 127° field of view covers a large part of the room. The second 5 MP lens with an 8 mm focal length and f/1.6 aperture is used to capture more distant objects. The maximum image resolution is 3840 × 2160 pixels, so 4K recordings make it easier to recognise people, animals and objects in the monitored space.

Automatic zoom and tracking of moving objects

The cooperation of the two lenses enables up to 9x hybrid zoom. The camera can automatically adjust the zoom to the size of the detected object, track its movement and scale the image to maintain a clear view. Adaptive tracking speed adjustment helps the device respond both to a calmly moving person and to the fast movement of a child or pet. The rotating mechanism adjusts its operating speed to the observed situation, reducing the risk of losing the object from the frame. This function can be useful when checking what is happening at home while at work, shopping or away.

Recognition of people, pets and events at home

Xiaomi Smart Camera C701 Pro offers detection of people, motion, pets and unusual sounds. After recognising a specific event, the device can send a notification to the Xiaomi Home app according to the set alert interval. The user can also use panoramic monitoring, a monitoring schedule and activity detection in a selected area. The virtual fence function allows you to indicate a zone for which the camera should record entry to or exit from the area. AI mechanisms such as person tracking, pet tracking and baby crying detection are disabled by default and must be activated in the app.

Night monitoring without a visible red glow

The camera is equipped with ten 940 nm infrared LEDs, which enable recording in the dark without visible red light. This helps reduce distracting lighting in a bedroom or child’s room. In low light, colour imaging technology can extend the time during which footage is recorded in colour, while in a dark environment the camera switches to black-and-white infrared image. The device can also recognise a baby’s cry and send a notification to the connected phone, so a parent can check the situation in the app without having to constantly watch the live view.

From the Xiaomi Home app, you can view live footage, play recordings, change detection settings, control the lens position and manage the privacy cover. The camera also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant using compatible devices, although command availability may depend on the country, region and supported language.

Wide movement range, privacy protection and flexible storage

The rotating design offers a 360° horizontal view and a 180° vertical range, which helps reduce blind spots when the camera is placed on furniture or mounted on the ceiling. The physical lens cover can be lowered manually or remotely via the app when the live view is not needed. The built-in MJA1 security chip assigns each device an individual private key and supports data transmission. The camera uses dual-band Wi-Fi 6 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, Bluetooth 5.4 and H.265 encoding. Materials can be stored on a microSD card with a capacity of 16–256 GB, in the cloud service or archived on a compatible NAS device.
