Internet Backup for UniFi Networks

Ubiquiti U5G-EU is a compact internet backup system for the UniFi environment, acting as a failover connection when the primary connection stops working. Powered via PoE, it can be connected without a separate power supply, while its small enclosure makes it easy to position wherever the mobile signal is strongest. It is well suited to offices, shops, service outlets, surveillance systems and small branches.

Connectivity and failover operation

The device supports 5G SA with download speeds of up to 220 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 120 Mbps. In 4G LTE mode, it offers download speeds of up to 195 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The Worldwide version supports 5G and LTE bands suited to international markets, including Europe, so you can use it in locations where a backup connection is needed for cloud services, VoIP, POS systems or remote management.

Installation and operation

The compact design, measuring 200 × 38 × 20.2 mm, makes it easy to position the device on a desk, wall or by a window, depending on signal conditions. The enclosure features a 1.14-inch status display for a quick overview of the device’s operation, as well as a factory reset button. The polycarbonate and aluminium alloy enclosure is well suited to business and technical installations.

The U5G-EU is ideal as a backup internet connection for locations where an outage would cause real problems. You can use it in offices, shops, tills, warehouses, temporary installations and remote locations. This helps keep sales systems, admin panels, surveillance and other internet-dependent services running even when the main connection is down.

Requirements and compatibility

The device requires UniFi Network 10.4.57 or later. Mobile app support requires UniFi iOS 10.35.0 or later, or UniFi Android 10.38.2 or later. The device is CE certified and supports nano SIM 4FF and eSIM, offering flexibility when deploying it in different locations and with different operators.
