Ports and connectivity

The terminal offers one 10G Ethernet port that supports speed negotiation at 100, 1000, 2500, 5000 and 10000 Mbps levels, allowing the full potential of the PON standard to be realized. In addition, the device is equipped with four gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps) and two POTS telephone ports (Rj11), providing versatile connectivity.

Wi-Fi 6

The EN8255X6s-8X offers state-of-the-art Wi-Fi 6-compliant wireless networking solutions, supporting IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ax in the 2.4 GHz band and IEEE 802.11 a/n/ac/ax in the 5 GHz band. Using 4x4 MIMO technology, the terminal boasts a maximum theoretical throughput of up to 1147 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and up to 4804 Mbps in the 5 GHz band. This is twice as much as standard Wi-Fi 6 solutions, guaranteeing an efficient wireless network even with many connected users.

Additional functionalities

The terminal is also equipped with a USB 2.0 port, which allows users to create an FTP drive or share resources via Samba, offering additional usability.

XGS-PON technology

As the heart of the system, the Huawei EN8255X6s-8X uses the XGS-PON standard for the WAN port, using an SC/APC type connector. This technology provides symmetrical data transmission with up to 10 Gbps in both directions, a significant difference from previous standards such as XG-PON and GPON. With support for 1x256 splits, the terminal can connect twice as many subscribers as GPON, providing greater flexibility and scalability to the system. XGS-PON's uniqueness also comes from its ability to run three different transmissions on a single optical fiber, using different wavelengths.

Advanced wireless features

The Huawei EN8255X6s-8X uses advanced wireless networking technologies such as Beamforming, BSS coloring and bandwidth control to ensure stable and efficient data transmission. Omnidirectional antennas with 2 dBi energy gain provide optimal Wi-Fi coverage, which, combined with twice the bandwidth compared to standard Wi-Fi 6 solutions, guarantees excellent wireless performance.
