Aqara Light Switch H2 EU uses both Matter over Thread and Zigbee protocols, allowing it to work with a wide range of devices from other brands and to use exclusive features available in the Aqara Home app. The Thread protocol enables fast and stable communication with smart home devices, while Zigbee offers additional features such as LED configuration and access to MARS-Tech technology, which significantly increases connection reliability. To use the device with a specific Matter ecosystem, a Matter Controller for that ecosystem and a Thread Border Router are required.
