The GS1200-8 switch provides high transfer speeds via Gigabit Ethernet ports. It is equipped with an online configuration and software update assistant, which speeds up the network start-up time.

Technical solutions

IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) Snooping - based on queries and reports of IGMP the switch transfers traffic not to all, but only to selected multicast ports. This improves the performance of network traffic, especially for applications that require more IP multicast bandwidth, such as streaming. VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) Segregation - thanks to VLAN it is possible to separate network traffic and thus isolate resources - so that only specific users have access to them. Improved QoS (Quality of Service) - allows prioritization of different applications, users and streams of a given type. In this way, the bandwidth for a given source is guaranteed. Agregation of links - Zyxel GS1200-8 can combine two physical ports into one data path - with high throughput, which will provide fast data transfer and greater reliability.

Performance

The IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) function automatically adjusts power consumption depending on the network traffic. No fans make its operation quiet, so noise does not disturb the working environment. Up to 2000 Mbps of unlocked bandwidth per port, port duplication, support for Jumbo frames, control of broadcast storm, loop detection and revent looping will ensure fast and reliable network operation.
