This single-mode patchcordis 10 meters long, 3 mmin diameter, and is terminated with SC/UPC-SC/UPC connectors. It is used for connecting optical network equipment, such as switches or converters. Patchcords are also widely used in FTTH networks to connect OLT and ONU/ONT type devices. The presented cables have a LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) material classification, which means that their sheathing is made of thermoplastic or thermosetting compounds, which do not emit halogen under the influence of high temperature and emit a limited amount of smoke.
