In a short distance you can usually use the power supply supplied as standard with the access point or with other network elements that you want to connect along the Ethernet cable. If the voltage loss in the wiring along longer sections of the Ethernet cable is too high, you can use another stronger power supply to eliminate this voltage loss.

How does it work? Complete Passive PoE ™ via Ethernet - the KIT contains two components: INJECTOR and TROUBLE. It is suitable for use with products that do not generally support Power Over Ethernet. Passive Power Over Ethernet - SET is applicable to a wide range of network products such as access points, routers, IP cameras, modems, switches, embedded computers or other network devices. The devices can be powered up to 50 V as standard. The power supply is not included in the price - it is possible to use the power supply of the powered device as an access point, IP camera etc. The passive PoE range is usually 30-40 meters / 100-130 feet. The actual distance depends on the type of power supply, cable type and powered device.
