Single-mode patchcord with a length of 1m, cable diameter of 3 mm, terminated with SC/UPC-SC/UPC connectors is used to connect optical network equipment such as switches or converters. It contains bidirectional transmission. Patchcords are also widely used in FTTH networks to connect OLT and ONU/ONT devices.
