Electric balance bike - why is it worth it?

Every parent wants their child to be happy and develop properly, no matter their age. That's why we look for activities that are suitable for children, that will be safe and benefit them.

One such activity is going for walks. However, in the case of a small child, even a short walk may end up with carrying the tired child in one's arms. A good solution in this case is to take the baby for a walk on a balance bicycle, which will make going for a walk more interesting and encourage the child to be more active.

Balance bike - what is it?

Balance bicycles, also known as run bicycles or no pedal bicycles, are a very similar to a regular bicycle. However, they have no pedals. Children ride on them by pushing off the ground with their feet, while being able to sit on the saddle. This makes it possible to cover much longer distances than during a normal walk - as they don't get tired as quickly. It is also more interesting than a walk in a stroller, in which the toddler is forced to sit in one place. Balance bicycles are designed for children aged between two to four years, as the first stage of learning to ride a bicycle. Recently, an electric balance bike has also appeared on the market.

Advantages and disadvantages of balance bikes

We can identify a list of advantages and disadvantages of balance bikes. Their undeniable advantage is that we encourage children to be more physically active from a very young age, taking care to develop their fitness and endurance. Keeping proper posture and maintaining balance also allows for development of gross motor skills - it strengthens coordination, strength, and endurance.

A large number of physiotherapists agree that balance bikes are more beneficial to a child's motor development than four-wheeled or three-wheeled bikes. Other important aspects of using a balance bike are that it teaches independence, as well as balance-keeping reflexes in children. It also allows children to learn to better judge distance and their speed. So what are the disadvantages of this solution? Good quality balance bikes are expensive. For example, the electric balance bike R1 Go costs almost 2500 zł. A balance bicycle will also require more effort from parents - they will have to keep up with their children to make sure they're safe.

Electric balance bike - a revolution?

In the era of urban electric vehicles, such as electric scooters or powered bicycles, the emergence of an electric vehicle for children was a matter of time. Electric cars for children have been known for many years, but the electric balance bike is a revolution in the world of children vehicles. It combines the advantages of an electric vehicle and a balance bike, which gives us a very efficient hybrid. In addition to developing children's motor skills, we also get a vehicle that will meet any challenge. They will be able to go up a steep hill without much effort, while still having to maintain balance. It will also allow to increase the distance covered - a full battery charge is enough for one hour of driving, which translates into several kilometres.

Electric balance bike - an introduction to motorcycling

Electric balance bikes will also please adult motorcycle enthusiasts. Thanks to them, they will be able to introduce their children to the world of motocross and motorcycles earlier than before. Each electric balance bike has all the basic features of a real motorcycle: handlebars, engine, wheels, and such. Which will allow toddlers to get acquainted with the basic principles of driving vehicles very early. So far, the smallest motorcycles have been admitted for use only from the age of eight. Electric balance bikes assume that even a four year old can ride on them. Which makes it possible to start the most important first training earlier. Also, a child which has contact with a powered vehicle from a young age will have a much easier start with a real motorcycle later on.
