The Zyxel GS1200 switch series with PoE+ allows for a wide range of network management, supports QoS, 802.3af, 802.3at PoE+ (30 W per port and 60 W total power) and provides a user-friendly configuration interface. The power resources and features of the Zyxel GS1200 switch make it the right choice for small or medium-sized enterprises planning to use IP cameras, VoIP telephone systems and wireless access points.
IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) Snooping - the switch, on the basis of queries and reports IGMP protocol, does not forward traffic to all, but only to selected multicast ports. This improves the performance of network traffic, especially for applications that require higher throughput IP multicast, such as streaming. VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network)Segregation - with VLAN it is possible to separate network traffic and consequently isolate resources so that only specific users have access to them. A improved QoS (Quality of Service) - allows prioritization of different applications, users and streams of a given type, thus guaranteeing bandwidth for a given source. Agregation of links - Zyxel GS1200-5 can combine two physical ports into one data path with high throughput, providing fast data transfer and greater reliability.
The IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) function automatically adjusts power consumption according to network traffic. Up to 2000 Mbps of non-blocking bandwidth per port, port duplication, support for Jumbo frames, control of broadcast storm, loop detection and loop prevention ensure fast and reliable network operation.
The lack of fans makes its operation quiet and reliable, so air noise will not disturb the working environment, and the possibility of hanging the GS1200-5HP v2 switch on the wall will save space. Thanks to its modern and minimalist design, the device looks good in any room.

A manageable switch, e.g. Gigabit Zyxel GS1200-5HP V2 allows you to change the configuration via telnet, Web site or similar solutions and adjust it to the correct operation of the network.
Gigabit Ethernet is a data rate standard that is supported by the Zyxel GS1200-5HP V2 switch and can be 1000 Mb/s (1 Gb/s).
The PoE connector is able to transfer power over the Ethernet cable to another device on an equal footing with the data, allowing you to use a remote device such as a IP camera or access point without having to connect it to additional power. The Zyxel GS1200-5HP V2 switch has 4 such connectors.
VLAN, or Virtual Local Area Network, is the term for a logical network that can be created in the Zyxel GS1200-5HP V2 manageable switch. It allows you to create a network of more than one physical network and at the same time allows you to isolate ports so that devices physically connected from one port group cannot access the other groups.
QoS or Quality of Service is a switch configuration that determines the priority protocols on which services will operate that require higher than standard throughput and operate without delays, such as streaming or VoIP.
